Socialism in America began with Social Security established in 1935 as a vice to redistribute wealth over time. A ponzi scheme to make the initial early beneficiaries (of the 40s, 50s, 60s & 70s eras) a whole lot of money in retirement years while looting from future generations (the younger generations of today). Things were still very stable and affordable back then, as initially Socialism is, but the problem is as in all cases, nothing is free, that massive wealth transfer is going to be paid by someone at the expense of someone else. You inevitably run out of other peoples' money and trust. Many countries have tried similar ponzi schemes and they all go broke, with early winners and late-to-the-game losers.

The problem is none of our politicians or so-called 'leaders' want diplomacy because they are lobbied by the military industrial complex aka war industry. Until we kick them out of office nothing matters, the wars will continue and the best thing to do is stay out of it, refuse to join the military or be conscripted. Nothing else you can do until you get rid of the corrupt politics.

I have an idea for reform, but it will never happen by the way. Any politician who publicly supports a war should be drafted to the front lines first. The people, the citizens, then reserve the right to vote for or against the war. Those that vote for war can get drafted to fight. Those that vote against it cannot. This would stall hostility and conflict very quickly.

These are the same politicians who want to regime change Iran and the rest of the Middle East. They also have a hard on against Russia and China too. I am more fortunate than most people honestly and for now, things are pretty much back to normal with some unexpected expenses that needed to be paid off this year. I still suffer from alcoholism and depression, although at least I'm only a night time drinker. I try my best to limit my curiosity of "happenings" and news. It does no good for my psyche or mental health. I am focusing more on how to better my own life while I still have that luxury. As for faith I only have faith in knowing this life doesn't last forever, my bad habits have caught up with me and I'm getting weaker as time goes on. It is amazing to see some 80+ year olds today that are still live and kicking in far better health than I am in. I assume it's the alcohol abuse over the years. Overall though, I am thankful, I know people who had it far, far worse than I do, some who are now homeless and/or no longer alive, some who took their own lives too. Life hasn't been too bad to me and that I am thankful for.

Thank you for the kind words, but I don't really know if I "deserve" anything more than I am just one of the luckier ones born into an upper middle class suburban life and never really had to worry about becoming homeless or starving on skid row over my binge drinking and other bad habits. I really do think it was far more luck for me having loving parents who had money than really deserving anything, that's the truth. I am thankful I got to experience life offline growing up with real experiences and relationships. I got to know what it was like skipping school and hanging out with friends as a teenager drinking beer and getting stoned, and crashing parties at night when sneaking out to get wasted and laid. The "good 'ol days" that newer generations probably do not get to experience much of anymore. It seems like today less and less people find the time to hang out, everyone is super busy, we are all getting old, and now have health problems while the world just turns to dystopiac shit.

At least for now AI is just a tool. It is a very advanced tool that will change the way people use the internet and utilities overall but it is still a tool, it can be used for both good and evil and probably will be used for both. Citizens will mostly use it fore creativity and art while militaries and governments will use it to spy on and murder people. Of-course this is always the result in human history sadly. Nothing will change, just the technology is all.

I used to feel that way, but I moved to a big city and I grew out of it.  I mean I'm always on alert, but more in a "best practices" way, I'm not terrified that somebody's gonna come up behind me I'm just aware that it's a very low possibility.

Maybe pay less attention to the news, and more attention to your surroundings.  The news only reports when there are stabbings (for example), not where there AREN'T stabbings.  If they news reported every interaction where somebody DIDN'T get stabbed, I mean, you'd never even notice the stabbings.

Instead, look around you and see that everybody around you are just other people living their lives and also not wanting to be stabbed.  Like I said, this helps when you live in a densely populated area because you get such a larger sample.

It really depends the areas of the cities you go to. Most areas are still relatively safe but you never want to walk into shady areas or high crime neighborhoods at night and obviously, demographics has a lot to do with it. Be careful and very vigilant in any area having over 20% black or Muslim population. If it's over 50% just stay away, consider them ghettos/ no-go zones. If you are living in an area that is increasing less white you should consider moving if you can afford to. I know this is far less an option for most younger generations due to the costs of housing though. So it's not always a solution anymore. The other solution is concealed carry but that does come with risk. Self-defense these days can still get you into trouble with the law in some cities and states. You can thank your politicians and the corrupted courts for that, btw.

You are going to hate what I have to say but regardless you are on their turf if they purchased their properties. Fortunately for them they lived and benefited during the days of capitalism and the free market which no longer exists. The good old days are long gone and they won't be coming back anytime soon.
