he will say he will and try really hard and then get heemed by washed up has-beens like squmartinguyonet and pensioner caruso and then say in the media "hey guys actually i was going for stagewins" and then make one break in the last week and get hard dropped by ivan cobo

 >>/37440/
those were the days, when all you needed to do to win a TDF stage was beat boasson hagen and taco van der hoorn in a sprint a deux or whatever black magic plot armor HOULE hexed the peloton with. 2022 had a lot of wacky break wins,

honestly a fun year

Will be interesting to see what UCI does with that extra license. Tudor and Q36.5 are 10k points down from Uno-X and Cofidis so if it's simply handed out to the next team in the rankings it wont be those. But if it can be sold to the highest bidder because it's a special case separate from the relegation system then those mountain jew teams probably have the money for it.

Listen I know I said there was going to a /wtw/ surprise this week, but I have thought about it further. I had ordered a little collection of Spatburgunder for ADAC Cyclassics and it didn't arrive until today. I was going to post on one of the bottles (so essentially having two wines for the ADAC Cyclassics), but have decided against it. /wtw/ should be posted when appropriate, not willy-nilly. In this same vein, I also have some Czech "beer" which I will not be discussing any further, regardless of histrionics and protests.

Bert was right, the Renewi Tour parcour looks much better than last year
Is this the race where the was that prologo on a narrow bike path next to a canal (i think ska went wide in one corner too) or was it a different belgian race

Shame, another good squaker career over before it began
Anyway how was your morning ride berts? For me it was some suprathreshold work. Just not my strong suit I guess, I have no problem doing 3-5min intervals at high watts but these 8-10min intervals just suck the life out of me. HR is fine, breathing is fine, but pushing the power just becomes increasingly difficult. Much prefer ftp and sweetspot over this stuff, bleh

> In his build-up and preparation towards the Vuelta a España Max Poole wasn’t reacting positively to training. Things worsened at the recent Tour de Pologne and he left the race on medical grounds to investigate the potential cause. The results of these investigations have concluded that Max is suffering from Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and he is therefore unable to train or race for the upcoming period.

> bertiol, kubis, de lie
This will go very well or very bad.
Also, strange deja vu I am having now, a deja vu of a deja vu because I have already experienced this moment, writing this post, and already then though this is a deja vu.

 >>/37524/
If you get a Hamburg De Lie this is good, if you get a labile De Lie this is a 20 point hole.
I have decided to pay premium for non-labile Grug, as he is giving a shit every race this year. He is not going to skor on first two but I also don't think you're getting more than a total 100 from De Lie on these two.

On the other hand this pure goomble and with my luck Grug is not feeling right and De Lie is on fire.

reminder that pros recover from stuff like pneumonia and broken collarbone within 3-7 days and as a matter of fact the more damage they received the stronger they come back. Vingo in 2024 and Abrahamsen in 2025 proved this so its fact

 >>/37603/
yeah really pointless, same with the tour
imo to achieve what velobert wants to achieve I would increase the cost by so much that you can only pick garbage if you go pick those guys so its a choice between picking the gc lords or picking more lower tier riders that could score big

> . I'm optimistic for the Vuelta, but we have to have feet right on the ground. I trained two and a half weeks without limitations [after the fall]... it’s little. Obviously, I have a season behind, but a stop of ten days, without training, without a bike, without doing anything. Of course the body resents. However, I am in a good, acceptable form, I feel good on the bike. I hope to grow, week after week. I think we can be optimistic, even if always with our feet based on the ground, as I have said, and focused on the important, which is in the race. And save me to the max.

> For the speculators among us: no, Van Aert will not be racing the World Championships in Gravel on October 12th in South Limburg, the Netherlands, either. "I would love to. But the date is very late. We've looked into it, but... part of our plan is to finish the season very early and get some rest a bit sooner."

> In order to, and here's the catch: "hopefully have a good winter." This is open to interpretation. Is Van Aert referring purely to his training schedule? Or is there a more extensive cyclocross program in the works? To be continued, no doubt.

Well we begin another mildly-anticipated .UWT race and today we begin in the Netherlands for this otherwise Flandrian Renewi Tour. This mean it's time for another sensational edition of /WORLD TOUR WINE/ (bier) !!

Today's bier is in firm Flandrian soil, brewed in Evergem just a few km south of Dutch border. It states the secondary fermentation is done with a wine yeast (no idea what benefit this provides....) so I guess that fits with our overall gimmick theme.

Gulden Draak Classic Tripel ($10)

Pours a gorgeous transparent auburn with cream mousse, long-lasting. Nose is yeasty with bread, light banana, funky fruit and clove. Palate is sweet malt and fruit, pleasant bitter hops, light spice, a little lingering sweetness to the finish. Carbonation really lifts the 10.5% alcohol.

Very surprised how much I liked this, did not expect much. Very good.

 >>/37750/
It's less of a production than wine. No decanting, no slurping. Just pop and pour. Give it a sniff or two, give it a few tastes and write what I think.

To be honest, I use beer a lot to help teach wine tasting to people. Even casual beer drinkers can discuss difference between a lager, IPA, and Guinness.

 >>/37753/
It's not necessary, but it makes a big difference. For young big, bold, tannic wines, you can decant and get it to come together pretty quickly.

For old wines with a lot of sediment, decanting helps separate it out so each glass isn't full of grit.

I drink a lot of Pinot Noir so it's not strictly necessary (I usually just open bottle and let it slowly open up over a few hours), but sometimes if I'm going to a tasting where I want it to be at it's best quickly, I will double decant which is pour bottle into decanter and then back into bottle.

 >>/37869/
strength training is unhealthy for the female body. every time wiebes wins medical doctor marlen reusser secretely wishes she didn't. young girls should know that you always put health first, unless it's food poisoning then its sauber.

 >>/37881/
Forgot to remove yesterday's fuga but I guess it doesn't change a lot for you.
See, you don't podium boring team once and disaster ensues.
Better hope VACEK does something because he is still very good at everything but not specialized enough to win and/or skor big points.

Back from me evening workout, oh boy how I love these late evening rides in late august or september when the cagies are already asleep but it's still sunlight and the weather is calm.
Except it was a cataclismic wind today, fuck that.

 >>/37886/
They've gotten absolutely nothing out of signing him. Now they put him on the startlist just for the sake of doing it I assume.
He'll train through racing and then he has plenty of time training at home before he has to perform in February/March.

Winebert, got a wine as present, Il Mariscal Tempranillo, doesn't seem too fancy or expensive, am I missing on something or can I just drink it like a regular nothingburger.
Please be quick, it is high time to go out.

I decided to check in on our old friend who would average like 500W on Zwift races and just claim "big guys make big watts".

Obviously he fixed his setup at some point and his wattage (and results) dropped like a stone. Stopped uploading Youtube vids as soon as he realized it.

> In the press conference two days before the Vuelta, Vingegaard was again asked about his two bad days. This time, he finally had an answer: "We think we've figured it out. But we're keeping it a secret. Will I never have an off day again? It can always happen, although we certainly hope not."
They're so fucking pathetic

Pedersen is really not worth it for 16. I read in an interview he doesn't give a FUCK about this Vuelta. Not fast enough for the flat stages and for the hilly ones they have Bagioli, who has number 1 on the team

 >>/37981/
I really liked the Giro with him and Carapaz, he was great in the Tour in 23 before the crash as well. Shame he crashed right at the start of this year's Giro, would've been fun to see him ride with Pelizzari and Rogla

surely he can make up a story about being bullied by his boss for a political stance or something. Both IPT owners have made some strong political statements in the past and 'feeling uncomfortable at the team' or something has worked well enough for blobloblo

 >>/37987/
bretty sure IPT is registered in Isreal so that's the jurisdiction of his paying contract so the argument probably doesn't fly in a isreali court kek. Doubt UCI will intervene because their official stance is dont ask dont tell

looking at GEE's strava he was doing 30/hr a week until the 3rd week of july and then suddenly stopped. he's been doing 10hr/wk since. last few weeks definitely not what you'd expect from a vuelta training camp and he's stayed in Andorra the whole time so assumably this has been boiling behind the scenes for a bit and they told him he's out a while ago

 >>/38035/
signed his current contract after his sulphurous 2023 giro. probably a decent amount but after a 4th in this years geero he can do better. or more accurately INEOS are frothing at the mouth to overpay an anglo talent

 >>/38036/
> allegedly

That Mitdbo guy is a freak. Pound for pound strength was already proven, plus some relatively very good results in endurance gimmick vids.
But doing that Iron/Norseman so good with so little prep is insane.
Also reminds me I need to get back to learning Norwegian because I have NO idea what were they saying.

 >>/38037/
> 2023 giro
Was a surprising race for an unknown rider but he was still a breakaway merchant with no wins. Since then he consistently top 10s stage races including the Tour de France he rode in 2024.
If he could end his contract and sign a new one now he could get a way higher salary.

 >>/38051/
Some Finnish superstars are racing the Baltic Chain Tour such as Jaakko SILLANKORVA, Matias AHTOSALO and Petja TEPPO. One of the guys in their team, Jesper Lindahl was in some touble in the TTT today, he has pretty similar power to myself hehe.

i always wonder how much runners know about their competition (and if DS's tell them anything). id bet money he thought narvaez was just another skinny sudaka with no sprint and thought once he beat the hippo it was over. in a lot of interviews runners will just go out and say they didn't know about another guy in the group with them

> Lidl-Trek is reportedly interested in Juan Ayuso. The Spanish cyclist is still under contract with UAE Emirates XRG, but would love to have that contract terminated. If that happens, Lidl-Trek would be ready to sign Ayuso, writes Ciro Scognamiglio, journalist for La Gazetta dello Sport.

All this talk in public about not being happy with his contract at UAE seems risky to me.
If there is a team that can afford to have a top rider on the payroll without letting him ride anything surely it would be UAE. He shouldn't piss them off in case they get too petty and ruin his career.

 >>/38213/
 >>/38214/
He really should just ride and act like a good boy until he gets an actual good offer (or until he moves up again in the hierarchy by winning something big). He'll still get good race calendars even without going to the Tour. The only thing he seems to be missing atm is training with Sola which Almeida gets to.

More than whatever happened last year, I guess his main problem is actually how much he overlaps with Del Toro in stage racing, classics and age.

> sort riders by age
> choose the 6 oldest ones
this will work except you have to do it for every category veloman forces upon you so don't make a full GC team. I believe in Jan Hirt and I guess the rest will be Italians.

think i will zag this vuelta. too big of a gap to don patje to close with conventional picks and mamma didnt raise no 2outje. not like tismbert and the czech can catch me anyway. or maybe i will regain my sensibilities and readjust.

I don't want to click on the latest visma LAB tour video, but how many are calling them out for their retarded tactics? I also assume that the first 200 commentaries are sucking wout's dick.
