It is still very much doubtful whether SEMIRUNNIY will run the 5k. I think the Chinese guy who qualified is injured but China can put in someone else if necessary. And who knows whether they have some other dude ready somewhere, information from China is not uhm very readily available

 >>/62031/
intensity depends on your fitness, for beginners it can be as low as 60% of ftp but for top tier endurance athletes it can be well over 80%. Mine is somewhere under 80% but over 75%

you guys should really read up on it I mean come on it'll be the first result on any search engine and probably less than 3 sentences to read. Not too much to ask

You can't and the real way of figuring it out is a session in the rape lab however if you do high z2 and can sustain it without fatiguing a lot you're on the right track imo because carb consumption ramps up quickly past lt1 so you'll run out of steam rather fast. But focused lt1 training is for advanced athletes anyways, I still do all z2 at the high end regardless because it's just more fun especially outdoors and there's no drawback since I don't ride that many hours and I reckon that goes for all of us.
Just fyi last winter I did some testing out of curiosity where I did 2h at 70% another ride 2h at 76% and another ride 2h at 82% and there was basically no difference between 70% and 76% but a big difference between 76% and 82%, riding over lt1 eats at you so there's no mistaking it. Seiler was right

 >>/62032/
 >>/62031/
 >>/62029/
For me I do my LT1 work around 70-75% of FTP, feels hard but not too hard and I can get 2-3h of time there without too much fatigue. I can pass the talk test but it's definitely not "all day pace" that I can just hammer out without thinking.
I have been thinking about getting a lactate meter for these efforts, usually I just triangulate from RPE / HR / power.

 >>/62005/
I don't recommend it.

In all seriousness tho, it was a nice reset. Lost some weight, slept great. Realized I'm probably not an alcoholic because it wasn't hard to do at all.

I'll do it every year going forward and may consider doing it again in June or so

Just watched Cadel Evans. Brennan is retarded and didn't even shake Andresen's hand, just sulked off. What a bitch.

Andresen very soulful celebration, will cheer for him going forward

 >>/62082/
No way they do but you see, standert maneuvered themselves into a corner and got bullied for it so they had to do something. They market their bike as nice and classy but also as a superior crit race machines and even sent them out to the media. The media then of course stated the obvious, how can a frame that is not aero at all and not light be a race machine and social media commenters trashed the brand even further. And this is them reacting to that entire thing

 >>/62094/
they should've just stayed in their lane and never even play the race bike angle or if at all just say > hi yes our bike is nice and oldschool with a new touch and you can even race on it! and sponsor a team maybe but don't lean super hard on that.
Hydroforming frames like specialized would eat too much into their FAT margins

 >>/62115/
Always thought it was about durability and repairability and possibly cheaper (not the case anymore). Like me I never use my cage anymore and do 90% of my travel with the bike a cheaper robust alloy frame is interesting but the market doesn't seem to think that way and prices it for the dental man.

Bęrt I have been doing some research. The only way SEMIRUNNIY can run the 5km is when someone from a country with no replacement runner gets sick or injured. As far as I can see this is only the case for two countries: Austria (FARTHOFER) and Czechia (JILEK). So you know what to do

For me I will be pleasantly surprised to ride outside in April. I don't like to be out below 65 deg lol. I should move out of New England.

Bert is not wrong winter is bad this year, hardest winter of my life. And while we're at the topic of who's softest I'm claiming hardest man in the thread since I rode outside at around freezing. At times it was even wet, humidity-temperature-tip gains pwoah

Its not as much that I'm a coldlet as it is that I'm a cold-gear-let. I love to run/hike in the cold, but I just hate cold weather cycling gear and the combination of getting hot with exertion and the windchill at speed is not my cup of tea. Anything beyond arm/leg warmers and a baselayer shirt is too much for me.

 >>/62168/
> combination of getting hot with exertion and the windchill at speed
it sucks and there is no winning kek you die one death somewhere, you'll either sweat more at one point for freeze more at another and to make matters worse you also can't breathe that well which is my main gripe. Either you are covered up and breathe through cloth which impedes breathing a lot or you breathe cold air which irritates your lungs and throat. So I end up not doing many efforts and just z2.
All of that is why its only for hardmen, or diamondmen as I like to call us - the hardest of the hard.

 >>/62169/
I have the gear for freezing rides, I've done it several time when the commute demanded it. I wasn't even that cold, but for some reason it is very hard mentally to start the ride.

On the other hand going out for a 35 degree ride feels great. After that the body starts to complain

Only surprising thing is it's not Giacomeme. I guess he's guaranteed some medals for the host nation, so he gets a pass.

Still, great to see grandes getting their doping game back on track. They had been getting outshone by Russians, Norwegians and Sudacas in recent years, so it's good that they're following in Sinner's (bravo to the italian dopage industrial complex for the surname choice) footsteps.

AG2R legend Jaakko HÄNNINEN finished 96th at Marseille la Marseillaise. that's not good enough for me to pick him as secret and forgotten rider. also most Nice Metropole riders are 6 point wtf

I see right through that, it's a plot to discredit still existing tubeless safety concerns by false flagging every minor incident. Consumers who were previously on the fence will inquire if and how exactly the tire blew off only to find out that in reality nothing of this sort happened at all. This in turn will make them discard any incidents (if there were any) and any anti-tubeless people as fake news and fake news spreaders, thus leading to more adoption of the technology. One question remains:
Who is paying you?

 >>/62354/
That's the pick but besides him I will be running nada rocketeers, I had to also refrain from overloading on CMA FDJters, I WILL be picking the Maltese Falcon THOUGH.
Plus one of my favorite pastaniggers, that can't come through, if I die I die.

https://michaelwoods.cc/how-things-ended/
michael woods retirement squeak. tldr he hated riding cobbles one day a year so much he retired and is going to the retirement home [the american grabble scene] to race on even worse roads then cobbles

 >>/62386/
> It is hard to describe how inhumane and awful it feels riding down the cobbles of the Champs at 70 km/h. After 20 days of consecutive riding, you have saddle sores, aches, and, as the Aussies say, serious “CBF” (couldn’t be fucked).

 >>/62403/
I think it will be all over the place.
Don't expect that many teams above a hundred of my stupid but elegant pick count sum. 100 is around the average skor for a 9 jockey race, would probably have a pretty hefty std.

 >>/62416/
pretty sure the black ring is the one that goes between the base of the fork and the lower headset bearing and the silver one goes on top of the upper headset bearing, I would be surprised if you can assemble the headset without both of them.
if you mean that there's a few (or a few too many) mm gap between fork and bottom of the headtube even after tightening the headset that does depend on tolerances but as long as you can eliminate all play when you tighten the headset it's just cosmetic

real question: after Pogi gets his 5th Tour this year will he start farming Giri and Vueltas until he retires in 2030? he's got to join the club that's won each GT at least twice

Turns out the black compression ring wasn't needed according to the chinese brothers, also I hate internal cables. Anyway build will be complete today and then we ride outside again

I have inadvertently slipped into a low carb diet, didn't feel like going for buns in the morning, just ate a big scrambled egsh + whatever veggie I felt like throwing into it + cheese + ham and I am keeping it.
Dinners will now also be going without carb kcal bloaters.
Pasta will still be on the menu, even just because I have to eat it before it goes bad, but pasta is also one of the easier stuff to make when grug want eat but not what eat, easy to keep it light.
Oh, and booze should be done for, but we will see in two weeks.

100kg or less before I am forty here I come, although I will be fine with a 102kg as well.

Anyway, team kneepain strikes again. Looks like it's OVER

> De kniepijn van Tim Merlier blijft maar aanslepen. Nadat de sprinter van Soudal Quick-Step in december al twee keer aan de kant stond, begon de pijn vorige week opnieuw. Merlier kreeg tien dagen rust voorgeschreven. Er wordt gehoopt dat hij midden maart in Nokere Koerse aan zijn seizoen kan beginnen.

Bertele was right, the picksums are very high for Etoilet:
175 BORING hansbull
174 OPTAKT ENJOYER
171 Marq Qwabendish
170 /pinot/

and far smaller for Valencia:
141 Amigos do Pedal
137 frfr on god
137 >using pedals
137 Marq Qwabendish

 >>/62523/
Thought the same, thought there are too many combinations in Etoile for it to converge, too few in Valencia but there you go.
Danny TUUK is like 13th at 7 picks, but he would be 11th if all ex aeqos was counted as a single positions.

Just slightly annoyed at the LAST FUCKING adjustemnt out of CRABBE whomst I have had in since the first version and then IZQUIERDO who came in late.
If MOSCHETTI didn't show up suddenly I would just leave it alone.

But nevermind, my team is meant for GC anyways.
Thank you for reading my spamlite again.

Asked this in /fit/ but I know we have some /elite/ athletes here:

I'm trying to work on developing more varied mobility I guess, and am trying to follow this routine:
Pic rel, I'm having trouble in this position, with the whole bodyweight supported on the folded leg. I find this painful in the back of my knee and cannot fully rest in this position or move around. Anything to develop/work on this?

 >>/62693/
I actually hired a very often recommended coaching service (that may or may not have a podcast) a few years ago and got weaker under their tutelage. You can't post something like this on most cycling forums because of the fervor of this groups fans.

 >>/62701/
To paraphrase
> These things should not be decided 20 minutes before the race. Too much confusion.
> Created a situtation where only maybe 60% the riders are trying.
> There should be some protocol or control.
> He felt the conditions were too dangerous for TT bikes.
Nothing crazy but quite open and honest from a young rider.

 >>/62692/
back of knee pain sounds bit peculiar, describe the issue more. does it feel like muscle, tendon, pressure, sharp, ache ?
I have structural problems in me ankles that show up under full extension bearing load e.g. virasana but there are many ways to work around it and progress mobility

> adam bin yashidi 26 points
come on bros does he need to suck all the fun out the game
I'm tired of scrounging between 4 pointers for someone that has ridden a top 10 in the last 3 years

 >>/62692/
I can't offer help for this in particular but for myself I found that problems such as these are always caused by tight fascia somewhere. I had some kneecap pain a while ago and the source was a very tight spot on the rectus femoris muscle all the way up near the hips.
good chance the problem also goes away if you keep going and flexibility improves

 >>/62692/
might be shizo take but specialized mobility work is completely useless (outside of niche professional sports) and mostly genetics, doing normal athletic weight training will get 99% of people better results in all areas that are related to "mobility"

 >>/62777/
You want to do some work over your threshold in the warmup. In running this is often called "priming", and for instance middle distance runners will do some 200m efforts at 800m pace etc. This ensures that your lactate is already slightly elevated at the start of your proper efforts, it really makes a difference in having an easier time. This is more crucial for shorter vo2max efforts like 2-10min but I also like them for longer efforts.

Did you know Lelgium wants to impose a toll vignette of like 120 eurodollars for foreigners. However, I just read that in the Separation Treaty of 1839 it is stated that all Dutch citizens have the right of free travel through Belgian territory. In the same treaty it also says we need to keep giving Antwerp access to the sea. And trains to the Ruhrgebiet that go through Limburg. I see a war coming

Bert, stop thinking you can live a normal life with a baby. Go to bed at latest 9pm, read a good book and try to fall asleep before 10. Our baby woke up before 6 for the first year and still routinely wakes up at 6-6.45, and I've found going to sleep early is the only proper remedy for this.

Alright the draw is here. OLYMPICS TIME. And of course we will all watch spees skating. Tomorrow we start with the 3000 meter (F). VINDERBUD:

> *
Joy BEUNE (NED)
> **
Ragne WIKLUND (NOR), Marijke GROENEWOUD (NED)
> *
Valérie MALTAIS (CAN), Isabelle WEIDEMANN (CAN), Merel CONIJN (NED), Martina SABLÍKOVÁ (CZE)
> **
Francesca LOLLOBRIGIDA (ITA), Nadezhda MOROZOVA (KAZ), Sandrine TAS (BEL), Elizaveta GOLUBEVA (KAZ), Kseniia KORZHOVA (AIN), Maryna ZUEVA (AIN)
> *
Momoka HORIKAWA (JAP), Violette BRAUN (FRA), Josie HOFFMANN (GER), Jeannine ROSNER (AUT), Kaitlyn MCGREGOR (SUI), YANG Binyu (CHN), Laura HALL (CAN)

I didn't even know Sablikova still has the WR. But this track will probably be abysmal. It is just some improvised thing where no races have been held yet and it will be demolished right after the Olympics. So DEFINITELY no world records this week
