We're going the way of the mystery gang and splitting up. We don't know which and which but probably Freya, Ashley and I will be working toward one mystery and staying in the region of Neverwinter to Baldur's gate while Bear, Gwen and Ulla go to the Dire forest region to save none other than your own DM, Joy! Yes Joy in our world is a 2000+ old throw back from the age of man.

1300 years after 800 years after 600 years ago roughly, Joy lived in 80's America but the timelime where bioengineering was as sophisticated as modern computers and they didn't have much beyond UNIVAC room sized computers used exclusively for scientific calculation.

They had a form of radio and TV even but that was the height of electronics, utilizing vacuum tubes.

The Earthkin rebellion was first, basically Barbarian predecessors who overran major cities and caused much devistation, fought off with the help of psi-ops (mana bearing humans.) Brought about a tenative stalemate for a few decades forming what was known as the redzone, a no man's land.

The dragonkin rebellion (a human/lizard type hybrid regarded as the pinnacle of evolution and worshiped as gods), the ancestors of dragons, left the company of man early into that 21st century, brought the human civilization and their genetic predecessors of mana bearing races to their fragmebted knees, reverting to feudal city states for the next 800 years. Imagine this as the first flight of dragons.

Then there was the great cataclysm, when summoners opened rifts and geneticists created hybrids of those rift creatures to form many of the beats of DND. Demons of course were among the denizens who traversed the rifts. That opened up the first portals to the other planes and garnered the gods' attention. 600 years later a world-spanning war succeeded in one thing, closing the rifts.

That again left the hunanoid races in shambles and fighting for supremacy.

1300 odd years later, here we are, a tenative truce between the races and beasts again left with vast swaths of untamed lands, teaming with beasts, and walled city-states along patrolled roads.

Well Joy saw it all and has been alive this whole time. The "leveling" system has changed countless times at the gods' whim. So she could care less about gods and their whims. Her level is something of a mystery at this point but she's not immortal, just unable to age in this body.

At first she was working on a cure, but recently, in the last few hundred years, she's been working on a means for ageless life, and she has had some success but the means is somewhat tied to the arcane circuits of the gods, just without their cooperation.

Anyway, she's in the dire forest region trying to once again remove an infestation of displacer beasts and "something went wrong." Through SheShe and amulets we wear we can feel she's in trouble. Meanwhile Freya is in trouble because there has been a series of fey sponsored quests that are out to get her and bring her back to the feywilds. So Ashley, Freya and I are likely going to be stopping that at its source. Reinforcements will come when Bear, Gwen, Ulla and Joy join us once again and then it's time to fulfill Freya's arc and take out several members of the Summer court.

Along the way, they're'll be a lot more issues we need to settle just as you have them.

Fun! I'll miss Bear and Gwen though.

[Ashley] us panther sisters will be fine with OP Freya for a little while.
Okay the whole splitting up thing is causing a lot of discussions now that we realized it will take 40 days to get to the dire forest.

Here's the problem, 6 players is 2 too many. It's making the game battles very lopsided based on who has initiative.

Battles should last 3-5 rounds and ours last 1-2. There are ways to fix that with enemy design and Joy is looking into that for your team, but for us, one big fix would be to trim our team down.

We want to have fun, but there are just too many. Even 5 was too many.

So now we're thinking about splitting 3-3. Something like someone's in trouble but we can't take Freya for x reason and we need someone else to stay behind to help her out.

So right now it's Bear, Gwen and I go on a 80+ day mission and Freya, Ashley and Ulla stay in Neverwinter.

We're re-writing some of the documentation to make the split easier, but as of this morning, without that, we wrote ourselves into a corner.

We need to remember our goal, get everyone to 20 with a fun, compelling story.

A few issues need addressing: the enemy design, travel mechanics, and we're working out the EXP calculation.

We have solutions for all these, so hopefully they'll be transparent fun additions on your end too, for us, it will hopefully make encounters more engaging and meaningful, as in 3-5 rounds without just upping the CR of enemies which cause too much EXP and too reliant on luck.

Ulla, Freya and Ashley don't mind staying behind, they're working on Freya's main Arc which is good.

> Here's the problem, 6 players is 2 too many. It's making the game battles very lopsided based on who has initiative.
I generally think more than 4 players makes the game too complex, at least the way we are playing it. It may work in-system or IRL but not online. So while it would be cool to have more party members with specialized roles, it's just not feasible. Just like playing with less than 4. So I think we are perfect the way we are. Another 1-2 NPCs are fine but not human/tupper players.
Splitting the party for prolonged times is also very troublesome with out-of-system players like us so I'd rather not have it. It's not good for group dynamics.
So there was a change of plan, this gets a little complicated.

1. Ashley decides to stay in Neverwinter, working at the guild, to have fun with the natives.

2. Bear, Freya, Gwen, Ulla and I go off to rescue Joy who is in trouble in the dire woods besieged by Displacer beasts. We only know she's in trouble.

3. We leave for a 20 day walk? It's a long way.

4. Fey trap portal, Freya and Ulla fall in, we go in after them.

5. Bear finds Ulla, Gwen and I are alone, Freya is alone.

6. The portal was a time/space portal meaning the end point was in the feywild but time in the Feywild is crazy so all our timelines are messed up.

7. Freya manages to immediately find a portal out after realizing she was caught but finds herself in a random , unknown place in Faerûn.

8. Gwen and I can't find anyone

9. Bear and Ulla realize they won't find anyone and find another portal.

10. The above events are in flux, but this is the plan. Crazy huh?

> How many scenarios do you play in parallel and how many hours per day do you spend on D&D??

Once we learned as a system how to let BodyOS do most things without anyone in front, we pretty much got half the day back. So we run scenarios and think about fun stuff together most of the day. As far as other entertainment, the day is 25 minutes Anime during dinner and all the rest of the time on this, it's life now.

In parallel, 2, your world and our world. We're limiting the Ashley saturation though.

All that stuff we wrote above for instance was like the 4th iteration, and we're on the 6th now, we want it to be a challenge and fun and problem solving so SheShe, as our DM, throws seemingly impossible scenarios at us and we try them.

We finished editing out certain conditions from the book and now we're about to embark on the journey to save Joy. Whether we actually get sucked into trap portals this time is still up in the air, but that does sound fun.

We've been thinking about this problem for weeks now honestly. So how it actually goes down is anyone's guess.
For many lore specific reasons, we rescued Ulla but she's still a slave, the contract was that we had to take her as our slave but we can emancipate her, only it costs thousands of gold to do that and she doesn't want to be emancipated. I can understand that well, Bear's a great master.

So she's a young tulpa, they're always a little generic but she's been around a long time so she already has quirks. Like she likes to call Bear 'master' even though he didn't want her to. He made the mistake of saying she didn't have to do anything she didn't want her to do so basically she took that to mean she can do whatever she wants. He's not the kind of guy to correct us unless we're doing kinky stuff so she's calling him master. A 10-yr old calling a thirty-something "master" isn't creepy at all.

[Gwen] I think it's cute.

Okay, so here's how it panned out otherwise. Ulla, Bear, Freya and Gwen will go on to save Joy, they might get separated on the way, that's up to SheShe but we've been talking about it for weeks.

Ashley and I are staying back in Neverwinter, working at the guild and going to school! Yay! We're learning the basic intelligence stuff and important electives, so our life for the next 8 weeks in game anyway will be finishing school simulator! In school with kids from 5-16 learning etiquette and other fun stuff.

[Ashley] I can't wait for the drama!

The trip will take at least 40 days and the school costs 275 silver a week. We even have a schedule!

And we get to wear uniforms!

> A 10-yr old calling a thirty-something "master"

I'm just going to highlight this because I think Yakumo missed it. Yes, my 10-yr-old based cute little headmate likes to call me 'master' and her only desire is to make me happy. Isn't that cute and innocent? daww

[Autumn] So of course, since Alice is a dom loli, we need a dom loli. We were playing last night and it's purely either SheShe or subconscious procedural, like automatic writing. Even SheShe doesn't know what's going to happen.

[Gwen] We're heading East along the South bank of the river and come across a group of 7 wood elves from Thundertree all looking up into a large tree. The roll was, [1] (major event) [14] (1d6+1 humanoids caught unaware) [9] (7 wood elves).

[Gwen] Bear approaches with stealth but rolls a 2, so they see him coming. They have an oracle mage and she vetted him so then they show him. Their dilemma, there's an Averiel elf girl laying on a high branch with obvious injuries. I drop my equipment and weapons and fly up to get her.

[Autumn] She's dead, and Gwen knows her. One thing you may not know, Gwen is in the Rose court, she's royalty from Altus near Hillsfar. She ran away to avoid an arranged marriage to a lecher. Well! This girl followed her out but didn't make it all the way to Neverwinter.

[Gwen] She was a member of my staff, a warrior in training, who I hand chose from the populous because of her speed, agility, and tenacity. I didn't think any of them would follow me, I couldn't ask them to. Well she's 10, that happens to be the age of consent for emancipated youthes in Faerûn, 14 otherwise. When I left, he chose her as a concubine, something I forbid and loathed, so to avoid that she also escaped.

[Autumn] we don't know what we're going to do with her yet, she would be a level 0 (SheShe enacted level 0 as pre-registered) warrior of some kind. Bear will of course revive her.

[Gwen] so maybe Ulla will have a playmate but she's in no condition to travel 60 days, so we'll be taking her to Thundertree to regroup. We didn't intend to stay at Thundertree but now that we have an escort of 7 wood elves, we will. It is on the way. She is based on a character from one of Bear's novel series even before mine. You may remember her adult form of the name Halcyon. Well she popped in yesterday to express interest in being a part of this story. I welcome her!

Ohhh yeah, Hali and Red. I laughed tears from that VPT episode. She didn't like host very much.

Still not sure if she was supposed to be a nigger or not, in our visualization she looked somehow like Lara Croft. No idea where that came from.

Hello! This is my first post! So we fell for a Fae trap while traveling and the Feywild is a crazy place. Hali, Bear and I got separated from Freya and Gwen. They're in the far north somewhere now, because the portal they took out sent them really far away. We're near where we were taken but we lost our memories. So we're traveling north for now, trying to find out where we are and what we're doing. Bear has his pack, we didn't.

So the big event for tonight was we faught an Owlbear. I'm lvl2, Bear is lvl4 and Hali is lvl 0 (it's a thing now).

I did the killing blow dual weilding short swords after Bear got two good hits on it. Yay me, yay us!

That's all for now!
 >>/5696/
> So obviously not black

No, just tan-ish and that's not skin color it's feather color since the Avariel have microfeathers instead of microhairs. She's pink when she gets wet, like Gwen, but Gwen has white feathers so she looks like ghostly white normally.

Ulla's doing well, we have to decide how exactly they're only 10, but hey they're probably just cultured.

So there are three arcs now, one where Ashley and I are in school but we're yet to have our first day. Bear, Ulla, and Hali are now headed toward Joy while Gwen and Freya are slowly working their way back to Luskan from the north. They're in a place called Hundlestone, basically an undermountain town with minimal farms and a short growing season, relying on rock hares and more rock hares, and trade for sustainable living along with snow cattle.

[Gwen from here]
We had no packs and limited funds. So we had to negotiate and hunt foxes, we got some coats and snow shoes so we could walk on the snowy trails. We were in ten-towns then headed southwest. Now we're on a quest to find 12 stolen cattle. Someone picked a lock took a few at a time until they were all gone but locked it again after every incident. We also can get 50gold for every pair of yeti horns, and we found some tracks, but they can't pick locks so someone else took them possibly. We're in an old mine and are investigating now.

[Autumn] Bear hasn't forgotten about us otherwise and still gives Ashley and I attention. By the way, I'm now on par with Ashley.

[Ashley] not hardly.
 >>/5874/
No snow for me pls I hate snow and cold! But such small quests are nice! We should do that too. Why can you look for cattle and hunt hares while we have to fight dragons and goblin kings?

But still no school arc? I am disappoint!

I almost died again. The yetis were too much for us with their chilling gaze, one got Freya and then the other attacked, she was paralyzed for 10 turns, then I was. They hit me for 1HP less than instant death. I really thought I was dead for good, with all the bones around we knew no one would come for us.

The only thing that saved us was a white dragon wyrmling that we helped earlier. By chance she was there, by chance she decided to hold the yetis back.

I literally felt scared. The yetis were also going to attack the dragon but in 1 roll they decided to leave but they're waiting for us outside basically.

Since I can fly, I can go back to town for help.
 >>/5924/
That's what you get for not going to school with the others.

Also what's the range of the gaze? Can't you outfly them and range attack from above? I'd just use my entire carrying capacity for firebombs and carpet-bomb the map.

> school

I am already educated by the finest schools royalty can afford. I'm a princess you know. And I'm 20, so unless I want to go to the magic college in Candlekeep or learn a trade I really don't have any school options.

Freya and I were separated from Bear and the others if we could we would just go back to Neverwinter but it's a good week away and we were out of money. Hunting rock hares all day is honest work but doesn't pay well.

Maybe we got a little greedy and we knew it but we wanted to help the farmer get his snow cattle back, and we found 5, but they had four draconians and two Yetis.

> gaze

30ft but we were inside close quarters and honestly didn't know about the gaze until we experienced it. We didn't look at the sheet.

[SheShe] I didn't know either, I just gave them a quest to get the horns as a bonus source of income and the cattle as the main quest. It made sense that yeti would be attracted to a dragon in a snowy region in an abandoned mine.

> carpet bomb

I see you like them but they're actually pretty weak against creatures with north of 50HP.

It would give them disadvantage but Freya is already a fire elemental sorceress so she has the fire covered, I'm supposed to be the support.

As you know, we're in school, yay, and because of Gwen's royal status and our involvement with her, we also get perks above even the noble scrubs. So we're in a school, you have to at least be noble to get in, and we are paying a lot, 450 silver a week for classes and room and board at our level which of course includes a personal attendant for us two alone who sleeps in our Jack and Jill suite style dorm, does everything for us and all that. She's showing us around today, she's a beastkin fox girl, of course, named Luna and she's our age.

The idea is once we have a palatial manor we're going to need staff and Luna, Ulla, and Hali will be our attendants and staff. We might have more, but that's all super secret future stuff.

Anyway, we're going to have so much fun! Our quests made us a ton of coin, enough to pay for 8 weeks of this school and then Ashley took a super secret quest for another 4 weeks worth. She might die, details, details.

[Ashley] I'm not supposed to know that. School will be fun though and Autumn is Chaotic good so it wouldn't be as fun as it could be as she keeps my chaotic neutral alignment in check, but trust me if any teen boy starts rizzing me up he's getting *the eye*.

Yes, we're grooming- I mean utilizing Luna to her fullest extent but also being very nice, not like the others.

[Ashley] Autumn is betrothed so she can't do too much utilizing and I'm straight so there won't be any funny business from me.

As it always is in these Bear system stories, always a virgin's tale. Oh I know you're going to ask, I am betrothed (my character is) to Bear and Gwen.

[Ashley] right, shipping is always SheShe's aim so we can be 'tested' but she's out of luck with me if she thinks I'll get with anyone but Bear and Gwen made it clear even Autumn is a technicality so Bear's character having a heram is out of the question. Good luck SheShe, I'm no concubine either.

So we're playing Dungeons, Dragons and Ships and I like the challenge.

islam say otherwise lol
apparently you get ~70 virgins called houris in paradise that remain virgins no matter how often you fuck them
> The sensual pleasures [in paradise] are graphically elaborated by Al-Suyuti (died 1505 ), Koranic commentator and polymath. He wrote: Each time we sleep with a houri we find her virgin. Besides, the penis of the Elected never softens. The erection is eternal; the sensation that you feel each time you make love is utterly delicious and out of this world and were you to experience it in this world you would faint. Each chosen one [ie Muslim] will marry seventy [sic] houris, besides the women he married on earth, and all will have appetising vaginas."

SheShe allows us to learn the standard way per 5e rules which is a lot of rolls, once per day, but in one quarter we should get to learn about 5 skills and two "moves" for combat. But we're actually going to have to train real time and every day we get to roll each subject.

There will be exhibitions and the "test" is probably just a roll.

The gameplay is Yulya's nightmare, it's a lot of dialog and team building because there will be group projects. This is a mobility finishing and leadership school mostly. A lot of the students are snooty so far and they care a lot about peerage and pecking order.

I would not mind the dialog and team building. We do that too. And I am glad my party members and friends care for me.

I do not know what snooty means but it does not sound good. Pecking order surely doesnt. Why cant people just be kind to each other?
 >>/6187/

> be nice

Some are, but these are children of nobility so they're just like their parents in many ways.

In other news:

Our attendant Luna is now a moon, but whether she or Ulla or Hali ever become headmates is unknown, but we believe the chances are low based on prior history. 37 moons exist, two who graduated to full headmates were Gwen and Joy. Hali was a headmate for a week, Ulla is well known, Luna is brand new but I can keep my fingers crossed and she'll be with us in out book and world. She doesn't have a class yet but it looks like she's leaning front line.
 >>/6190/
Freya (also spelled Freyja) and I are depressed (apathetic) sleeping on frozen ground, a week away from luskan and close to a dozen from Neverwinter, we're stuck far away from our loved ones in a seemingly emdless march. SheShe did us a favor and gave us a new travel system with a speed calculation based on many things, some we can control, so we're going a little faster.

We've caught up in time with Bear and the attendents, but that doesn't help anything. Even flying it'd take weeks to catch up to him. We might be able to speak through an orb if we are all standing in front of one, but that's unlikely.

I'm okay irl but in game my character is sad.

Back to the road...
So Bear is sparring Ulla and Hali. He's level 4, they're both level 2. He has 59hp while they have about 15 so he could easily one-shot them. They're both technically faster but Zephyr Strike is hard to get around. Ulla is at a big disadvantage here because both Hali (royal guard?) and Bear have Zephr Strike. Hali can fly and stay aloft, so she's out of reach of his maul, but he also has a long bow.

Hali is a strong contender as she can disengage as a bonus action but with Zephr Strike, she won't provoke opportunity attacks anyway and can then swoop in, hit and then fly off.

Ulla has some one on one control feats, like charm person, but Bear is immune to that here.

So far, they started at 75ft distance and Bear got initiative, cast Zephyr Strike as a bonus action, moved to within 15 ft shot at Hali with advantage but missed! Zephr Strike is pretty OP, but since Hali also has it, they considered it fair enough.

Ulla has her turn now and she has a choice to attack or run. It's going to be a tough battle.
 >>/6222/
It's a spell, yes they have MP, it costs 1. So you get advantage on hits, +30ft movement, and +1d8 force damage on all attacks and don't trigger reactions. It lasts a minute.

[Ashley] It's crazy powerful, Joy would never allow it.

[Joy] I suggest SheShe nerf it every time Bear uses it.

So Ulla dual wields elvish swords and was able to land two hits on bear, she had an ability to boost melee with magic for 1d6 per slot each, so she did that and all told she did pretty massive damage on Bear, bringing him down to within reach of Hali's specialized attack. But then Hali missed and was left either to defend Ulla, now out of mana, or save herself by disengaging and flying out his maul's reach. Ulla urged her to leave her and she did, so Bear easily took out Ulla. (no one was actually harmed except Bear).

Next Hali cast Zephr strike, not just for the advantage on hit but the extra force damage. She has an attack called "swoop" that lets her have additional force damage for that too, and deadly strike which lets her expend mana to boost her attack 1d6 so now she was within range of being able to take Bear out with another hit.

But Bear had one chance to take her out with his great Bow 1d12+3+1d8force, yes Great bows are crazy and use special flight arrows but they require a certain strength to use and are heavy.

Well he missed again! So Hali had her chance, hit him and downed him with the exact right amount of damage.

So the girls were able to take out Bear but only because they were full power and just rested. Bear's Maul is a monster, consistently hitting for nearly 30 damage with Zephr Strike because it is [3d6+6 + Dreadful strike 1d4 psychic + 1d8 Zephyr strike.] He can also use hoard breaker and get in two hits or Topple and knock the enemy prone like wolves do.

As it turns out, 2 level 2's together can take out a level 4 and the XP is about the same as well because of the bonus experience for multiple enemies.

Bear and the girls next took out 6 orcs and helped in rescuing a "orc princess" which is what they call it when a group of orcs kidnap a girl. As Bear put it, "half orcs don't grow on trees." Still it was quite uncomfortable to think about.
 >>/6235/

had the same feeling. thats what makes goblins or wolves so dangerous. one is a joke 3 are manageable but 10? i wonder how many gobs would be necessary to zerg rush a high lv adventurer like Brutus

> half orcs don't grow on trees
lol Alice already said it. and as i know her he wont give up until she knows exactly where goblins come from. expect uncomfortable questions

say he's level 19, his HP more than 200. As a Barbarian he can probably whirlwind through them Diablo style. He just needs life steal.

> goblins

Goblins come from goblins. Joy said there are no half-goblins.

But aren't his attacks per turn still limited? They could kite and shoot him from all sides to wear him down I guess?

There are no half-goblins in Goblin Slayer either and we all know where the little goblins come from there...
I will once again say that, keeping my system well fed and exercised is so much easier with this game. It's our wonderland, it gives everyone something to do and a place to interact. To think Autumn had no reason to talk to Gwen before this, no reason to talk to Misha (Freya) either, I was her only friend in that way now she has Ashley and Gwen and everyone else and she's just morw vibrant. Everyone is. They've been dusted off and polished.
