This is a series of threads where we are building a map of occult symbolism to decode the secret language of the ruling class.
For those who missed the first three, I have prepared a cryptic summary.

Thread #1:
August 8th, 2022 - November 25th, 2022
262 / 300 posts archived
archive.is/qCBUP

> The first thread was a bit chaotic.

> We drove by Volunteer Fire Departments.

> The one in Sandy Hook has stars on the roof.

> When it comes to geometry, I bet they know a thing or two.

> The Royal Art almost led us to the secret garden of Frances.

> Did we overlook the spirals in roses?

> The Hitchhiker's Guide was touched on, of course.

> But not the first chapter's clue about a horse.

> We went to the beach where Tom Hanks was cast away.

> Time rules over us without mercy, so he found a Mercedes.

> Maybe he just needed to wait until sunset.

> Peggy Sue got married, but did she fall out of heaven?

> And let's not forget about 1, 2, and 7.

Thread #2:
November 26th, 2022 - October 10th, 2023
299/300 posts archived
archive.is/DbGU2

> I meant to do more with Alice but fell in the deep end.

> We forgot the life preservers for The Enchantment Under The Sea Dance.

> While looking for The City, I got directions to New Jerusalem and The Republic.

> Let's try to plan for that long-overdue Hippo safari in August.

> I pointed out reflections and found a rainbow connection.

> There was another trip to the beach, and I remembered to bring Hawaiian garments.

> We talked about palms but not freemen from Lucania or Lukedonia.

> Do robots go fishing in aquariums? I bet Skynet speaks Quenya.

> I contemplated the nature of half mermaids and amphibians.

> Our understanding of Corinthians will peak soon, I imagine.

> And it's about time we go over Lovecraft and the deep things of Satan.

> Did you catch Graham before Hesse? Maybe there are no coincidences.

Thread #3:
October 11th, 2023 - April 5th, 2024
151/~250 posts archived
archive.is/6wb90

> Knowing was ennobling, and Linda Hamilton was pretty.

> October really spooked us without even making it to Santerelli.

> Was Coast to Coast part of the belluminati?

> Lighthouses guided us towards arrival.

> Michael Sembello was rather attractive.

> We found a host of avatars and body snatchers.

> But never asked if there's a difference between wanderers and travelers.

> We learned Frank has a franchise and visited the apartment he rents.

> A few JCs were named, and I am sure Jackie Chan knows about that.

> We found several Connors but had no love for Philip.

> Maybe one day we will finally discover William.

> During our research, we came across more than one Scotsman.

> There are still mountains to climb as we barely explored The Highlands.

> On balance, I think we should attend The Last Supper, again.

> The Da Vinci Code is centered around it, and we're well into these threads.

> Immer is their word, but we can say Emma.

Eventually, I'm going to make a thread that covers everything so far in an ideal order.
With bad portents ahead, there will be a more relational and technical approach.

Welcome back.

 >>/42/
I've been planning on catching up on some of the media mentioned in the last threads. There is still a lot to go through. Some things that were recommended, as well as some things that seemed like they may be important. Like Buckaroo Banzai, it's the first example of an 88 I can find used in this context in a film. Hopefully I will be able to dedicate a lot more to this soon, and have higher quality things to share as a result.

It is good to be back.

Thanks for the excellent summary btw. That Hippo safari in august is serious business, we'll have to watch out for lions.

Hopefully once everything gets settled in the next little bit I'll be able to do this almost full time. I'm hoping to have a whole schizo room strung up with yarn and things to keep track of it all. I just need to think of a way to encrypt it.

The intro of The X-Files famously states that "the truth is out there".
The show was created by Chris Carter.
Chris is a nickname for Christopher.
Christopher means "Christ-bearer".

https://www.etymonline.com/word/Christopher
> Church Latin Christophoros, from Ecclesiastical Greek khristophoros, literally "Christ-bearing;" from phoros "bearer," from pherein "to carry,"

X is a symbol for Christ.
It represents The Greek letter chi in Χριστός (Christos).
The idealist Gospel of John places an emphasis on truth.

John 8:32
https://www.drbo.org/chapter/50008.htm
> And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 14:6
https://www.drbo.org/chapter/50014.htm
> Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.

John 16:13:
https://www.drbo.org/chapter/50016.htm
> But when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will teach you all truth.

John 18:37-38:
https://www.drbo.org/chapter/50018.htm
> Pilate therefore said to him: Art thou a king then? Jesus answered: Thou sayest that I am a king. For this was I born, and for this came I into the world; that I should give testimony to the truth. Every one that is of the truth, heareth my voice.
> Pilate saith to him: What is truth? And when he said this, he went out again to the Jews, and saith to them: I find no cause in him.

Dana Scully is a devout Roman Catholic.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_The_X-Files

Her middle name is Katherine, which means pure.

https://www.behindthename.com/name/katherine
> In the early Christian era it became associated with Greek καθαρός (katharos) meaning "pure", and the Latin spelling was changed from Katerina to Katharina to reflect this.

Scully is an Irish surname.

https://surnames.behindthename.com/name/scully
> Anglicized form of Ó Scolaidhe.

Complete with red hair, Scully is a portrait of an Irish Catholic, like JFK.
What about Fox Mulder?

The surname Mulder refers to a type of mason.

https://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Mulder
> one who molded by casting in iron, but in the ancient times 'to mould' was a creative art, and described a particularly skilled mason.

And F-O-X famously encodes 6-6-6 in the Pythagorean chart:
https://www.dcode.fr/pythagorean-numerology

Mulder is portrayed by David Duchovny.
He is the son of Amram Duchovny, who worked for the American Jewish Committee.

Amram co-wrote a play called "The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald":

With all this in mind, The X-Files takes on a different nature.
Consider season 3, episode 11 "Revelations":

https://x-files.fandom.com/wiki/Revelations/Transcript
> SCULLY: Well, isn't a saint or a holy person just another term for someone who's abnormal?
> MULDER: Do you really believe that?
> SCULLY: I ... believe in the idea that God's hand can be witnessed. I believe He can create miracles, yes.
> MULDER: Even if science can't explain them?
> SCULLY: Maybe that's just what faith is.
> MULDER: Well, I wouldn't let faith overwhelm your judgement here. These people are simply fanatics behaving fanatically using religion as a justification. They give bona fide paranoiacs like myself a bad name. They're no more divine or holy than that ketchup we saw on the murdered preacher. And I think once you've finished your autopsy, you'll come to the same conclusion.

This is the same guy who believes anything else.
Next, season 5, episode 12 "Bad Blood":

https://x-files.fandom.com/wiki/Bad_Blood/Transcript
> SCULLY: Well, these may be syringe marks. Their placement meant to emulate fangs. Such ritualistic blood-letting points towards cultists of some sort, in which case ... (She notices a look of bemusement on Mulder's face) What? (He laughs)
> MULDER: Yeah, that's probably it, satanic cultists. Come on, Scully.

Last, season 6, episode 22 "Biogenesis":
It begins with Scully saying that our vision of earth seems like a magician's trick on a stage.
Then she talks about mass extinctions.
After the intro, an alien artifact slices into a copy of The Bible.
The episode is about the discovery that aliens created man.

https://x-files.fandom.com/wiki/Biogenesis/Transcript
> SCULLY: (looking at the translation) A passage from the Bible on an artifact that you're saying is extraterrestrial. And, uh, how did the aliens get it?
> DR. SANDOZ: They gave it to us. The text came from them. I can prove it.. It's written here. I'm sure of it.

The meaning of Scully is worth noting.

https://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Scully
> "Scolaide", a Crier, i.e. one whose duty it was to announce important forthcoming events

Mulder has a poster in his office with the caption "I want to believe".
The title of season 4, episode 11 is "El Mundo Gira" or "The World Turns".
The plot includes differing testimony about who killed someone.

https://yewtu.be/watch?v=AX5povj8K0M
https://x-files.fandom.com/wiki/El_Mundo_Gira
> possibly a play on the soap opera title As the World Turns, since Scully described this case as a "Mexican soap opera."

The JFK assassination happened during an episode of "As The World Turns".
https://archive.is/OmYOF
> Among other things, it offers the bizarre sight of Cronkite’s dire updates being followed by cheery commercials for Nescafé instant coffee (opening, ominously, with a slowly swinging pendulum)

Owl City has a song called "Fireflies".
Fireflies illuminate the dark.
Owl City wants to believe that the world turns.

https://genius.com/Owl-city-fireflies-lyrics
> I'd like to make myself believe
> That planet Earth turns slowly
> It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
> 'Cause everything is never as it seems (When I fall asleep)

Owls are nocturnal birds.
They can see their prey in the dark.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hawaii-supreme-court-quotes-the-wire-ruling-gun-rights/
> "As the world turns, it makes no sense for contemporary society to pledge allegiance to the founding era's culture, realities, laws, and understanding of the Constitution"

I got some passes to see some movies for free.

I saw Longlegs, the new Nicolas Cage movie, it's a lot like Silence of the Lambs. I saw it because I wanted to see what they did with "clairevoyant detective looking for satanic occultist". There were the usual things in the background like a "Life Cycle of the Butterfly" poster. And more obvious things like when she's getting a test for psychic abilities:
> Pick a number from 0 to 100
> 33?
Watching an interview for it, I saw Nicolas Cage say that he studied the occult for many years, to the point where others distanced themselves because they couldn't understand what he was talking about anymore.

I also saw "The Watchers" because I thought it might have clues in it, based on it's poster of the main character's one eye covered with a butterfly. It takes place in the Irish woods and is about a girl finding out she is mixed lineage with some kind of Irish 'fairy' race who impersonate people. Her character introduction involves her staring at lizards and dressing up in costumes (like the faeries who impersonate people). It's M Night Shyamalan's daughter's first movie, So I'm guessing she learned about this from him.

Tonight I saw TRAP, again because of the poster. The eye is right in the middle of the 'A', which looks like the all seeing eye, and the tagline is
> 30,000 fans
> 300 cops
so there's the 33
It's directed by M. Night Shyamalan, his daughter directed The Watchers. In the past threads there was a picture from his movie 'Signs' posted with the quote:
> They make up secret codes and analyze Greek mythology and make secret societies where other guys who never had girlfriends can join in. They do stupid crap like this to feel special.
So I suspected there would be some things of note. I found:
> main character's name is COOPER
> butterfly painting on the fridge
> Cooper's occupation is firefighter
> his identifying mark is a sheep tattoo on the wrist
> he has a victim in his basement, and to check the cam he signs into a service with a sheep head logo
> His daughter has a shirt that says "the flock"
> His address is 108 Monk Road
> The movie is set in fictional "East Dublin, Philadelphia"

Happy 8/8

There was an easter egg in the last thread that I never got to reveal.
I mentioned Michael Fassbender and then linked a clip of Jim Gaffigan's Noble Ape (2018) where he talks about surnames.

The first one he mentions is Cooper:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=yZdGSjh-uNI

Fassbender means cooper, or barrel maker.

https://www.ancestry.com/name-origin?surname=fassbender
> German: occupational name for a cooper (standard German Fassbinder) from Middle High German faz ‘cask barrel’ + binder ‘joiner’.

"Where the World Turns Wild" by Nicola Penfold is about people trapped in a city due to a deadly man-made pandemic.
It was published around the start of Covid-19.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/48807670-where-the-world-turns-wild
> Published February 6, 2020

The plot reminds me of Silo (2023).

https://www.booktrust.org.uk/book/w/where-the-world-turns-wild/
> Juniper lives in a grey, concrete city, controlled with an iron grip by its so-call saviour, Portia Steel. Fifty years ago, a group of renegade eco-activists released a deadly virus into the environment and the city built its walls to keep nature – and the virus – out. There are no plants, birds or animals, and everyone is taught to fear the wild. But, born outside the walls, Juniper thinks differently: she dreams of green things and freedom.

Juniper and Bear travel to Ennerdale.
JB? Wild Palms (1993) stars James Belushi.

> Juniper and her little brother Bear decide to escape the city and undertake a dangerous journey across the wilderness in search of their first home, Ennerdale. It will take everything they have to get there and will challenge everything they think they know about the world around them.

Ennerdale means "inner valley".

https://www.etymonline.com/word/dale
> Old English dæl "vale, valley, gorge,"

Junipers are coniferous evergreens like pines and firs.
They are known for being particularly hardy.

https://www.mckaynursery.com/evergreens/juniper-evergreen
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juniper
> Junipers are coniferous trees and shrubs in the genus Juniperus of the cypress family Cupressaceae.

This was Nicola Penfold's first book (under that name, anyway).
The surname Penfold refers to someone in charge of caged animals.

https://www.ancestry.com/name-origin?surname=penfold
> from Middle English _pin-fold_ _pen-fold_ _pun(d)-fold_ ‘animal pound’ applied as a topographic name for someone who lived by a pound for stray animals or most likely a metonymic occupational name for someone in charge of such a pound.

Harry S. Truman was the 33rd president of The United States and a Freemason.
On August 6 and 9, 1945, the nuclear bombs Little Boy and Fat Man were dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, respectively.
On October 19, Truman was given the 33rd degree.

https://www.trumanlibrary.gov/education/student-resources/places/grandview/grandview-masonic-lodge-618
> On October 19, 1945, Truman was given the 33rd degree of the Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite for the southern jurisdiction. He is the only President to have received this distinction, which he considered with satisfaction to be the culmination of his Masonic career.

Nagasaki is known for its Catholic population.

https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/255054/atomic-bomb-dropped-on-nagasaki-killed-two-thirds-of-the-city-s-catholics-78-years-ago
> Since the 16th century, Nagasaki has been an important center of Catholicism in Japan, initially evangelized by Jesuit and Franciscan missionaries.

It is associated with Rome.

https://www.tsunagujapan.com/nagasaki-the-catholic-rome-of-japan/
> In 1570, the port of Nagasaki was officially granted permission to trade with merchants from overseas, and parts of the land were given to the Jesuits. These missionaries built a number of churches in Nagasaki, which became known as the “Rome of Japan.”

It is a important location in the history of Christians being oppressed in Japan over fears of cultural and political subversion.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/26_Martyrs_of_Japan
https://www.nippon.com/en/japan-topics/c12903/
> The Spanish ship San Felipe, en route from the Philippines to Mexico, suffered serious damage in a series of typhoons and drifted ashore in Tosa (modern-day Kōchi Prefecture). Under interrogation, the ship’s crew responded that Spain was a world power that dispatched missionaries to convert the local population before occupying countries. This set Hideyoshi against Christianity and led to the crucifixion and martyrdom of 26 priests and believers in Nagasaki in 1597.

Those concerns were apparently not without basis, given what was happening in India.

https://www.goainquisition.info/2020/05/the-portuguese-and-goan-inquisition.html
> At least from 1540 onwards the Portuguese destroyed all the Hindu temples in the area, over 300 of them, and stopped all Hindu worship and even popular traditions that were not directly connected with the religion. From studies by Dr. K. V. Paliwal, President of the Hindu Writers’ Forum in New Delhi, as presented in his book, Atrocities on Hindus by Christian Missionaries in Goa, many of the churches that were built in Goa were constructed on top of the remains of Hindu temples that were destroyed by the Portuguese.

The code name for the first nuclear bomb test was "Trinity".

https://www.afnwc.af.mil/About-Us/History/Trinity-Nuclear-Test/
> The world's first nuclear explosion occurred on July 16, 1945, when a plutonium implosion device was tested at a site located 210 miles south of Los Alamos, New Mexico, on the plains of the Alamogordo Bombing Range, known as the Jornada del Muerto.
> The code name for the test was "Trinity."

The next set of tests were called Operation Crossroads.

https://www.history.navy.mil/our-collections/art/exhibits/conflicts-and-operations/operation-crossroads-bikini-atoll.html
> Operation Crossroads was an atmospheric nuclear weapon test series conducted in the summer of 1946 at Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
> The series consisted of two detonations, a low altitude test and a shallow water test.
> The devices, each with a yield of 21 kilotons, were named shots ABLE and BAKER.
> A planned third test, a deep underwater detonation, was canceled after the second test.

That is fascinating, I wonder how many other major events also happen to have Freemasons on one side and Jesuits on the other.

Yesterday I watched (M)azes and (M)onsters (1982) starring Tom Hanks. It has been on my list for ages, and was given to me in the same unusual way I found many other confirmed clues. I know it sounds crazy and spergy, but I am almost certain I was being communicated with through the youtube 'recommended for you' section. I received specifically masonic thumbnails, and very specific recommendations.

It was like turning on youtube and seeing "1988 olympic pool construction" for no reason, plus the thumbnail is a guy winking, and it's 3:03 long.

I'll upload a few of the thumbnails I saved, I saved them so I could look back later and make sure I wasn't just being oversensitive. Looking back, they are spooky. The Harvard rejection written to MM, addressed at 330 WW ave was kind of funny.

This is how I found the VFD 'coded' book list that happened to be all masonic authors. I got a recommendation for A Series of Unfortunate Events, wondered why I would get that, got an urge to investigate, and found a treasure trove of info.

I did tests to try and see if anything would react. I said "Give me a thumbnail of GODZILLA, I want to see Godzilla in the pic", and then an hour later I got "What it's like to be eaten by Godzilla and titans."
I think many people have experienced something similar "I only thought of this, why am I getting an ad for it?"
(on a side note, I later found out that in the new godzilla movies, Godzilla is introduced on a ship called CVN-88 with a huge 88 onscreen while godzilla is seen for the first time. The company who deals with him in the films is called Monarch.)

I suspect that something can put things right into my head/awareness. The way I found out about the 2 pinocchio movies, I was washing dishes and then suddenly "Pinocchio" "Go look it up, PINOCCHIO." So I did, and found that there were 2 new movies to be released within 2 months, featuring Zemeckis, Hanks, Ewan McGregor, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Tilda Swinton. (Pinocchio means Pine Eye. Like the pineal gland, or the other pine things that all grow and expand at golden ratio, like pineapples or pinecones.) I think that's how I've managed to navigate to so many specific things, something guiding my mind to look at the right stuff. But I clearly do not know what is happening, and I am very slow at piecing together the clues.

The Yon Yonson song was found like that too. First in Recess after the Freemason stakeout, then the recommendation for the 1:44 length infinitely-looping song on youtube, and then third, I got a feeling to investigate, and opened Kurt Vonnegut's book Slaughterhouse-five (the Children's Crusade) to page one, where I saw it again, printed clear as day with full lyrics. All within a short time of each other and just after calling myself Yon Yonsson a few months prior. I'm going to have to keep digging into Slaughterhouse-five, I just found it also has a graphic novel I'll post a significant page from.

So back to Mazes and Monsters, it was suggested over a year ago by the youtube recommendations. It was basically glued to my youtube home page until the recommendations section disappeared. I finally watched it, it has dream worlds, mirrors, even a Wizard of Oz reference, and then most unusually of all, the twin towers become a major importance. I noticed that Finis Temporis included it at the beginning of his Tom Hanks video, but he didn't include the dream world, mirrors, or Oz references. Definitely worth a watch, and like every other movie in these threads, I wish I had seen it sooner.

In the film, they keep mentioning that people use Mazes and Monsters to work out real issues in an imaginary setting.

Tom Hank's character is named Pardieu, which means Good Lord
> "I am Pardieu, the Holy Man. In reaching the ninth level, I have acquired many magic spells and charms, the greatest of which is the graven Eye of Timor."

On September 27, Lionsgate releases Francis Ford Coppola's decades-delayed film "Megalopolis".
It's about a fight over the future direction of the City of New Rome in the 23rd century.

The protagonist is a CC who can freeze time.
His enemy is a Frank, and he has a relationship with JC.
At one point, he balances on the edge of a tall building and gets vertigo.
And he says "Don't let the now destroy the forever."

Trailer:

> The City of New Rome must change, causing conflict between Cesar Catilina, a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero, who remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare.
> Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero, the mayor's daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves.

St. Augustine, Florida is the oldest city in the United States.
https://www.citystaug.com/693/Our-History
> Founded in 1565, St. Augustine is the oldest continuously occupied settlement of European and African-American origin in the United States.

It's named after Saint Augustine of Hippo, who wrote "The City of God".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augustine_of_Hippo

The treatise was in part a response to the public's reaction to Visigoths sacking Rome on August 24, 410 AD.
For inhabitants of the Empire, it was shocking and soul-crushing.
The pagans blamed the loss of Rome on the abandonment of their gods and traditions.

https://engelsbergideas.com/essays/the-city-of-god-on-augustines-vision-of-an-empire/
> They feared that the Christian emperor Theodosius I offended the gods and endangered the empire when, in 391–92, he banned the public and private cult of the gods of Rome; and they thought their point was proved when two decades later, in 410, a war-band of barbarian Goths spent three days looting the city of Rome.

Augustine rebukes them, arguing that it succumbed to decadence and corruption.
He points out that Rome had suffered difficult times before the arrival of Christianity.

The work is comprehensive and covers a wide array of topics.
As for the title, he establishes a dichotomy of two cities.
Augustine contrasts the heavenly City of God with the worldly City of Man.

- The City of God is the eternal, spiritual city characterized by harmony and the love of God
- The City of Man is the temporary, earthly city defined by the pursuit of pleasure and success, or the love of the self

https://www.liberty.edu/ace/articles/city-god-city-man/
> Augustine writes, “Two loves have made the two cities. Love of self, even to the point of contempt for God, made the earthly city; and love of God, even to the point of contempt for self, made the heavenly city.”

While Rome may have been called the Eternal City, Augustine identified it with the temporal City of Man.
Something that loves itself and dominates others.

Like Gnostics, Augustine felt that citizens of the City of God are in exile.
https://engelsbergideas.com/essays/the-city-of-god-on-augustines-vision-of-an-empire/
> In this world, the citizens of the city of God are peregrini, ‘resident aliens’ away from their true home in heaven, who live here but do not quite belong.

A pike is a long spear.

I'm still not sure I fully grasp the Jesus 9/11 symbolism. I see the patterns between "two into one", twin towers, and the eclipse, but why Jesus?
Do they have a Baphomet-like meaning for Jesus where he represents the two into one, unification of opposites like the eclipse? It seems like they are insinuating something like that in their symbolism, but I don't understand the biblical or historical basis for it. The Templars were catholic-christians and the first mention of Baphomet symbolism was in the templar trials. We've seen Templar symbolism in 'Youth Without Youth', and 'Yesterday'.

The guy who directed City of Men, and City of God, also did a movie called "The Two Popes", starring Anthony Hopkins and featuring a plot involving the vatican child sex scandals

In "The City of God", Saint Augustine warns about pagans worshiping "the Great Mother".

> For they also make this same Ceres to be the Great Mother, who they say is none other than the earth, and call her also Juno.

The term "Mother Earth" is inspired by the Greek goddess Gaia.
https://www.theoi.com/Protogenos/Gaia.html
> GAIA (Gaea) was the goddess of the earth.
> She was one of the primoridal elemental deities (protogenoi) born at the dawn of creation.
> Gaia was the great mother of all creation--the heavenly gods were descended from her through her union with Ouranos (Uranus) (Sky), the sea-gods from her union with Pontos (Sea), the Gigantes (Giants) from her mating with Tartaros (the Pit), and mortal creatures born directly from her earthy flesh.

She was a rebel goddess.
> Gaia was the chief antagonist of the heavenly gods.
> First she rebelled against her husband Ouranos (Sky) who had imprisoned several of her giant-sons within her womb.
> Later when her son Kronos (Cronus) defied her by imprisoning these same sons, she sided with Zeus in his rebellion.

Do the rebels worship the Great Mother?

https://www.behindthename.com/name/elijah

Noticed this while setting up my new internet. 911 show with bees and one eye.

The bees in the pic seem to be related to the episode 'Buzzkill' in the latest season, the episode ends with 2 planes crashing.

Donnie Darko was produced by Flower Films and premiered on January 19, 2001.
It's about a world ending the day before Halloween.
It takes place in the town of Middlesex, across October, before the 1988 election.
Much of the film revolves around Donnie's Jesuit school.

Donnie meets Frank after being guided, sleepwalking, to a golf course.
Frank says:
> 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, 12 seconds - that is when the world will end.

It's related to the lunar month.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0246578/trivia/?tab=tr&item=tr1452510
> That figure comes from adding or subtracting one from each part of the figure, twenty-seven days, seven hours, forty-three minutes, eleven seconds, which is the precise length of one lunar month (by one of the less-used definitions, sidereal instead of the usual synodic).

Donnie wakes up on the golf course to Jim Cunningham and Dr. Fisher standing over him.
Dr. Fisher says "Son?" before JC eclipses the sun.

Are golf rumors about something underneath golf courses?
It doesn't look like we're going to make it to 2046.

Richard Kiel played Jaws in "Moonraker". This movie has one of the most famous mandela effects. People remember a love interest for Jaws with braces, which matched his own metal teeth. There is a scene where she smiles and reveals her braces. If you were to watch that scene today, the braces would not be there. Richard Kiel did an advertisement for Visa, which references the scene. In the ad, the female cashier who smiles at him has braces. Richard Kiel also holds up a visa card with a fish on it.

Francis, meet Charles.
It comes from carolus, Latin for free man.

https://www.etymonline.com/word/Charles
> from Medieval Latin Carolus, from Middle High German Karl, literally "man, husband"

https://www.ancestry.com/first-name-meaning/carolus
> Derived from the Latin word carolus, meaning free man, it epitomizes independence and liberty.

The name is also associated with kings via Charlemagne and the Frankish Carolingian dynasty.

https://www.britannica.com/topic/Carolingian-dynasty
> family of Frankish aristocrats and the dynasty (750–887 ce) that they established to rule western Europe.
> The dynasty’s name derives from the large number of family members who bore the name Charles, most notably Charlemagne.

https://www.etymonline.com/word/churl
> Old English ceorl "peasant, one of the lowest class of freemen, man without rank," from Proto-Germanic *kerlaz, *karlaz
> the same word also has come to mean "king" in many languages (such as Lithuanian karalius, Czech kral, Polish król) via Charlemagne.

Chris Carter's middle name is Carl.
In Dark City, uncle Karl Harris is a fisherman.
Karel Čapek attended Charles university and is famous for introducing the word "robot".
And let's not forget Carl Jung and Carl Sagan.

On the female side, we have names like Carol and Carrie.

Well, technically the reflection of an eclipse.

It is clearly an eclipse and not regular moon phases because in moon phases there is not a crescent appearing until at least half of the moon has disappeared. In this video it is one steady black circle that overtakes the moon.

Charlotte is a feminine version of Charles.

https://www.behindthename.com/name/charlotte
> French feminine diminutive of Charles. It was introduced to Britain in the 17th century.

The Unite The Right rally took place in Charlottesville, Virginia.
It was sparked by the removal of a statue of confederate general Robert E. Lee.

https://time.com/charlottesville-white-nationalist-rally-clashes/
> Violence erupted in the college town of Charlottesville on Aug. 12 after hundreds of white nationalists and their supporters who gathered for a rally over plans to remove a Confederate statue were met by counter-protesters, leading Virginia’s governor to declare a state of emergency.

Confederate general Zebulon B. Vance co-founded Excelsior Lodge in Charlotte, North Carolina.

https://excelsiorlodge261.org/temp/Excelsior.php
> Excelsior Lodge was founded in 1867 as the 261st Masonic Lodge to be chartered in North Carolina. It was founded in Charlotte, NC by Charlotte businessman and alderman Samuel Wittkowsky and former N.C. Governor, U.S. Senator, and Confederate General Zebulon B. Vance.

"Charlotte's Web" was written by Elwyn Brooks White.
It's named after a spider who saves a pig named Wilbur from being slaughtered by a Jewish uncle.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlotte%27s_Web
> After a little girl named Fern Arable pleads for the life of the runt of a litter of piglets, her father gives her the pig to nurture, and she names him Wilbur.
> She treats him as a pet, but a month later, Wilbur is no longer small and is sold to Fern's uncle, Homer Zuckerman.
> In Zuckerman's barnyard, Wilbur yearns for companionship but is snubbed by the other animals.
> He is befriended by a barn spider named Charlotte, whose web sits in a doorway overlooking Wilbur's enclosure.
> When Wilbur discovers that he is being raised for slaughter, she promises to find a way to save his life.

Driver: San Francisco (2011) has a unique mechanic.

It takes place within the dream city of John Tanner.
He falls into a coma while chasing escaped convict (free man) Charles Jericho.
In his dream, he can take over the bodies of other drivers and use that to gain intel or arrange car crashes.

Nick Robinson (Babylonian) - The Game Ubisoft Won't Let You Play:

https://driver.fandom.com/wiki/Driver:_San_Francisco
> After seemingly surviving a fatal collision with a truck while chasing down escaped convict Charles Jericho, John Tanner, with his partner Tobias Jones, intends to uncover the mystery of his intentions in the city of San Francisco.

The surname Tanner might have Celtic origins related to animal hides.
That would make sense in a game about wearing people.

https://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Tanner
> an ancient Anglo-Saxon occupational surname for someone employed as a tanner of animal skins and hides
> The ultimate derivation is thought to be from an ancient Celtic word for the oak (tree), whose bark was used in the tanning process.

Doom (1993) was created by John Carmack and John Romero.
JC and JR.

Doom means judgment.

https://www.etymonline.com/word/doom
> from Old English dom "a law, statute, decree; administration of justice, judgment; justice, equity, righteousness,"
> Crack of doom is the last trump, the signal for the dissolution of all things.

The phrase "crack of doom" comes from Macbeth.
It's a reference to Judgment Day at the end of time.

https://www.folger.edu/explore/shakespeares-works/macbeth/read/4/1/
> What, will the line stretch out to th’ crack of doom?

Lord of the Rings is about a journey to the Crack of Doom.
It's a hellish abyss.

https://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Cracks_of_Doom
> The Cracks of Doom or Crack of Doom were a great fissure, a deep chasm filled with fire, in which the One Ring was forged by Sauron and was destroyed when Gollum fell with the One Ring into it.

Chris Carter was born in Bellflower, California.
The pilot episode of The X-Files takes place in Bellefleur, Oregon.

https://x-files.fandom.com/wiki/Bellefleur
> This city's name is a reference to Bellflower, California, where series creator Chris Carter was born.

The most well known genus of bellflowers is Campanula, which is Latin for "little bell".
https://www.atozflowers.com/flower/campanula/

There's a variety of Bellflower called Venus Looking Glass.
However, it's Triodanis, rather than Campanula.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triodanis_perfoliata

https://symbolism.fandom.com/wiki/Bellflower
> There is a myth regarding the other name of the flower which is ‘Venus Looking Glass’.
> The story tells of a mirror owned by Venus where she can see to find beautiful images.
> She sent cupid to find it when she had lost it.
> Cupid, finding it, had dropped it and the glass shattered into pieces that fell to the ground.
> In turn, campanulas sprouted from where the pieces fell.

According to the fandom page, it gets a little weirder.

> Another history connected to this flower is a folkloric one.
> It is said that fairies planted these blooms to trap people on their path.
> This is especially a trap to capture children.

While I couldn't find a source for capturing children, there is a related piece of media.

https://bellflower.fandom.com/wiki/Bellflower_Siblings_and_Friends
> Carnival - The Big Top Carnival is here and the Bellflower Siblings attend it while looking after their little brother Dandelion. However, Roderick and Marmaduke, two bumbling fox criminals, tried to capture them and sell them as slaves.
> The Black Sun - A gruesome crime syndicate captures and ties up Poppy, Lilli and Dandelion and holds them hostage for ransom or worse being on sale as slaves.

The Black Sun?

The Starlost is about passengers who have forgotten they are on a spaceship.
1899 is about steamship passengers in simulation who have forgotten that they are on a spaceship.

The protagonist of 1899 is Maura Franklin.
https://1899-netflix.fandom.com/wiki/Maura_Franklin

The name Maura could mean "of the sea", though I didn't find an additional source.
That would make sense in a story about a steamship simulation.
Likewise for Maura Isles who works with JR.

https://www.ancestry.com/first-name-meaning/maura
> It features two possible meanings: Of the Sea or Bitter.
> In Irish mythology, the sea contains immense significance, representing the boundary between the mortal world and the Otherworld.

It's also a Gaelic derivative of Mary.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maura_(given_name)
> It appears as the feminine form of the Roman given name Maurus and as an Anglicisation of Máire, the Irish form of Mary.

 >>/103/
Earlier, I mentioned the Charles connection to kings via the Franks.
Maura Franklin's middle name is Henriette.
It's a diminutive of Henry and is associated with royalty.

https://www.behindthename.com/name/henry
> From the Germanic name Heimirich meaning "home ruler", composed of the elements heim "home" and rih "ruler".
> Heinrich was popular among continental royalty, being the name of seven German kings

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henriette_of_France
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henrietta_of_England

Her father's name is Henry.

https://1899-netflix.fandom.com/wiki/Henry_Singleton
> Initially believed to be the Creator of the simulation, Henry is, in actuality, just as trapped as everyone else and more determined than anyone else to escape

With the boring stuff out of the way, let's tie in Tolkien.

> This historical award is issued by the Governor to honor citizens of the state for public service which leads to the betterment, enrichment and welfare of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The Patriot Award certifies her as the official witch of Salem.

> "I proclaim Laurie Cabot the Official Witch of Salem for her work with children with special needs."

It's kind of a big deal (for witches who are into civics).

> From a surname that was from a place name meaning "hare land" in Old English.

Ellison means son of Ellis, a derivative of Elijah.
https://surnames.behindthename.com/name/ellison
> Patronymic form of the English name Ellis, from the medieval given name Elis, a vernacular form of Elijah.

https://www.behindthename.com/name/elijah

Ellis may be an obscure reference to Alice.

Perhaps that is why there is a company called Alice Ellis Casting.

I should be back in business again :) sorry for the gaps in posting.

Laurence Fishburne is known for his roles in esoteric films like Event Horizon (1997).
In the last thread, I pointed out that "Fishburne" means a stream for fishing.

https://www.houseofnames.com/fishburne-family-crest

The Truman Show was directed by Peter Weir.
A weir is a fish trap.

> an obstruction placed in tidal waters, or wholly or partially across a river, to direct the passage of, or trap fish.

https://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Weir
> from the Old English word "wer", weir, dam, fish-trap

A couple of decades earlier, Peter Weir directed Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975).
The film is based on the 1967 book of the same name by Joan Lindsay.

With bad portents ahead, there will be a more relational and technical approach.

Welcome back.

Trailer:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=SX4b2hGBnes
> The City of New Rome must change, causing conflict between Cesar Catilina, a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero, who remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare.
> Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero, the mayor's daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves.

Megalopolis means "great city".
https://www.etymonline.com/word/megalopolis
> from Greek megas (genitive megalou) "great" (see mickle) + polis "city" (see polis). The word was used in classical times as an epithet of great cities (Athens, Syracuse, Alexandria)

Rome became known as the Eternal City.
https://blog.johncabot.edu/study-abroad/rome-called-eternal-city
> The poet Tibullus is credited by many scholars as the first to refer to Rome as “Urbs Aeterna,” which translates from Latin to the “Eternal City.”

Owl City has a song called "Fireflies".
Fireflies illuminate the dark.
Owl City wants to believe that the world turns.

https://genius.com/Owl-city-fireflies-lyrics
> I'd like to make myself believe
> That planet Earth turns slowly
> It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
> 'Cause everything is never as it seems (When I fall asleep)

The German word for Freemason is der Freimaurer.
https://www.freimaurer.org

Maura sounds like Maurer in native German.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=1McYvN-Nimg

We discussed Solace (2015) which has substantial cross symbolism.
Maura wakes up from the simulation after her husband provides her wedding ring at a cross.
His name is Daniel Solace.

Clip from episode 8:

In 1899, Maura Franklin uses a ring to end a simulation.
In The Lord of the Rings, Frodo Baggins takes a ring to The Crack of Doom.
Frodo Baggins is also known as Maura Labingi.

https://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Frodo_Baggins
> The name Frodo Baggins is an English translation of his Westron name Maura Labingi.
> The name Maura has the element maur- (wise, experienced), which Tolkien equated to the Germanic element frod- of the same meaning.

Now there's a Frodo who really knows where his towel is.

The music video for "The Killing Moon" starts and ends with an eclipse.
Well, technically the reflection of an eclipse.

It is clearly an eclipse and not regular moon phases because in moon phases there is not a crescent appearing until at least half of the moon has disappeared. In this video it is one steady black circle that overtakes the moon.
