> Next 10 years

Can't say honestly. This decade was the most important in my life because it is the decade I discovered imageboards, games such as Minecraft, finished up public education, got more /tech/nical, and a wide variety of other things. Those who don't have good memory or just don't bother remembering perceive time as moving too fast.
In the next 10 years we are going to see the rise of multiple phenomena. The prevalence of computer intelligence, biological-computer interfaces, some major political changes with boomers finally dying off, possible war between china and hong-kong (although wars today are better fought invisibly), and generally greater separation between people as technology continues to grow, also resulting in people existing online more frequently and said online existences being perceived as is they are real with possible "laws" alongside it.

We shall see.

Oh yeah me too. That was pretty good. Saw plenty of IBs come and go. Saved a bunch of content for 4chan that got deleted off my mediafire account FML. But also have Gigabytes worth of new content from after that incident. Also found a lot of good vidya and music. So that's nice

Hopefully nothing too crazy happens in the next decade. Was planning on maybe marrying around that time. I dunno

I personally do guitars and I can program a drum machine well enough. I have some friends who do some other stuff.
 >>/25114/
I don't really expect to make a living at it, but I started making music (that's a very generous term for what I make) when I was like 14 and I just really like doing it, so it's just a hobby I have. But any advice is more than welcome.

I'm going to attach a video file that has some stuff I want to use for artwork and a quick 30 sec sound clip of an unfinished song. I'm aiming for an atmospheric black metal sound.

OP here. Here to answer this
 >>/25150/

Constructive feedback

I play guitar too. It sounds like you were practicing with your guitar, made a good tune and thought man this sounds pretty good, I need to record this

Which is okay if you're starting out. Think of making songs as a composition/theater play when you get much better in the future.

It has a beginning/opening,continuation, bridge, ending.

Something along those lines. Here's some basic guides to music composition. Not all inclusive but good to start

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verse-chorus_form

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirty-two-bar_form

Also, judging from your musical choice, I'd wager to think that you're a Scandinavian anon or American anon That type of music is pretty popular there.

That's all for now. Will give you some resources for you to start making music when I get some time off tomorrow

You're welcome. Nice dubs btw

Anyway, back to posting

Music and musicians in the current century

It used to be really hard to be a musician close to a century ago. But it's relatively easy to start now. You have a lot of tools at your disposal. You can even make studio-quality music on your own if you want.

Starting out

There's plenty of resources you can try to start making some music. Best advice is just to practice a lot, follow song composing patterns, find good inspiration, and have fun. Also find some friends or people to share/play music with. That helps too

Here's a few music creating programs you can look into. There's plenty more, but here's a start:

Reason
https://www.reasonstudios.com/en/reason

Fruity Loops
https://www.image-line.com/flstudio/

Audacity(Freeware)
https://www.audacityteam.org/download/

Drum machines

https://www.musicradar.com/news/the-best-hardware-drum-machines-2018-our-pick-of-the-best-grooveboxes-for-beginners-and-pros
https://consordini.com/best-drum-machines/
https://www.kickstartyourdrumming.com/best-drum-machine/

I heard Akai and Korg machines were pretty nice. Was planning on buying an Akai MIDI later on

Setting up a store to sell music and merchandise, if you ever go that far:

Bandcamp
https://bandcamp.com/

Streaming your music:
https://artists.youtube.com/
https://artists.spotify.com/
https://vimeo.com/

Done for today. Will make the "Making a fanbase" post and record deal post later

Back to this

Making a fanbase

So you've practiced a ton, played at a few local bars and have gathered a small but loyal fanbase

Now it's time for the interesting part: being a memorable act

Think of yourself as an artist presenting in an exhibit. And every artist has their own style. But that comes after you get really good at playing music though. Don't put one thing after the other

I listed around 4 different musicians and bands right now. Each of them has a distinct and unique style. Which is what you should be aiming for if you eventually. Try to study them, or bands you like and try to figure out what you like about them. Because most of your fans will be really interested in who you are if you stand out from everyone.

Best advice after you become good would be to play in nearby bars and cover/open for bigger bands. Just start somewhere when you become really good at it.

That's all for now. Making final post about record deal later.

posting record deal info

Record Deals

Record deals sound fancy, but the reality is that the record company is just renting out their studio equipment for you to use and you're taking out a loan to use it. Music companies/promoters/managers will always take a chunk out of everything you make all will also make more money than you.

Most entertainers work excessively long hours and have to travel constantly. I knew someone who would sleep around 2-4 hours and then head back on the road everyday.

It's not really a lifestyle for everyone, certainly not something many people can handle. In all honesty, I think it'd be best if you just played for small shows in your local town. Or broadcasting some shows online if you can

Most musicians won't ever get a record deal either. It's really rare for it to happen. So there's also that. Here's some more reading info on that

This Decade felt strange to me as someone who identifies more with the decade before. I guess the peak though for the culture I like was 2010 to 11, when all the edgy stupid shitposting was getting noticed but before it was Corporatize fully. I don't like all the centralization on social media. Remember when every fandom and tech niche would have it's own forum? Now everything is getting pushed to social media and fandoms often exist as a cyclops. Were Bronies the last large fandom that still set up and organized around their own sites? As sad as that is. A lot of my hangouts held out till 2016 or 17 when Discord swept in and killed those that hadn't been taken out by Facebook and reddit. I could stay all negative but I actually have found friends on the few scattered communities that remain and there is still some positive developments and some places that will never succumb do to being more esoteric in nature. I see the situation as still bad but not hopeless.

I guess happy new years.

The 20's are going to be interesting in that I feel like I'm actually *in* history.

Maybe it's partly because the 00's-10's don't have a simple term like "the twenties" (no one said the aughts or teens, for example) and also the fact that those decades made up my adolescence.

More importantly though I think that the past three decades have largely been a sort of 'interperiod'. We saw the neoliberal hegemony of Europe and the US, with the downfall of the USSR. The rise of China and the precariousness of the global financial institutions means to me that things are finally coming to a head.

We are falling back into history. We aren't going to remain peaceful and (relatively) prosperous indefinitely. Now is the time to strengthen ourselves so that we may remain in history and have something to pass onto our descendants (the fact that you have managed to find this means that you have at least somewhat of a leg up over the plebs just finding out about the internet).

Happy New Years, and Godspeed anons.

 >>/25362/
> Remember when every fandom and tech niche would have it's own forum?

It's probably being done in order to monopolize on everything and get as much money out of them as possible. Niche markets mean big bucks if done correctly.

Example: First recent Star Wars film of of 2014-2016(?) was one of the most highest grossing films of all time. You tell investors that you can pull those numbers on their products and you can imagine what happens afterwards

> A lot of my hangouts held out till 2016 or 17 when Discord swept in and killed those that hadn't been taken out by Facebook and reddit. I could stay all negative but I actually have found friends on the few scattered communities that remain and there is still some positive developments and some places that will never succumb do to being more esoteric in nature

Best thing you could do. Just try not to make as much noise and hope your hobbies don't become too popular

 >>/25373/
I hope so. Last two decades were such a bore, I barely remember anything interesting. Do remember things becoming lamer though

 >>/25604/
The next 10 years will be like nothing in history. The current state of the world and society does not provide enough contextual information to predict or fathom what the future has in store for everyone, for it will be completely alien in its nature and presentation.

My 2010s were pretty crazy. I spent a couple years as a NEET, then I moved cities worked for a few years. Then I travelled to a few countries and got a gf, and then I went back to university. My plan for the 2020s is to get a stable skilled job and start earning decent money. I want to live cheaply and save money either to retire or buy fun AI toys. I don't think we'll have any proper VR waifus this decade, as in an AI which you can actually get emotionally attached to or have a conversation with. But we might start seeing some primitive versions.

I'd like to see more advances in computer hardware and AI. I'd hope to see further development in quantum computing to the point where the first consumer-grade quantum computers begin to be released. I'd also hope to see development of good specialised AI, for example self-driving cars which can take you anywhere, or AI which can compose music or draw art. We started seeing the beginning of these things in the late 2010s, and the 2020s are our chance to make them useful and widespread. But I think we'd need to see much more powerful CPUs to do that.

Basic VR technology should also become commonplace in the 2020s, but there's a long way to go before we can make real virtual worlds that a person might want to live in. I think the coming decade will mostly be spent refining the existing approach to VR. It will take at least another big invention to make VR really good.

Geopolitically I'd expect to see China and Russia equalise the playing field with the USA. This won't necessarily be a good thing for us, but it will have to happen. There could be a lot of tensions and possibly a second Cold War as the USA loses its global influence. Climate change will get worse but it won't get bad enough to cause major problems.

aside from the global / national shit, i've had a great time

i'm even able to eat more food now too
my mother used to fill the fridge and shelves with disgusting food she refused to eat nor get rid of, so my father & i couldn't reasonably eat more than a meal a day except from the local diner that we were only "allowed" to go to for a short period of time
i'm finally over 100lb now

Well, its been interesting so far. I can say that much.

Honestly it feels boring without any plans. I'm not anticipating anything in particular, and really nothing new or revolutionary has revealed itself. Feels like diminishing returns when I look at the 90s and even 2000s with the internet and technology.

99% of the 2000 daily U.S. covid deaths are unvaccinated. 20 vaccinated dead compared to 1,980 unvaccinated dead each day.

Calleb Wallace of Texas organized anti-mask protests and founded the "San Angelo Freedom Defenders" to hassle local businesses with
mask-required signs. He was, of course, unvaccinated. He caught COVID in July 2021 and died in a hospital after a month on a ventilator. He left behind a pregnant wife and three children.

At 2000 a day, there will be 2 million fewer of these idiots in November 2024. If someone doesn't want to get vaccinated, give 'em a big smile and a thumbs-up. Congratulate them on their valuing their own personal freedom over the well-being of their kids and others and encourage them to meet up with each other to shake hands and slap either on the back or swap loads of virus or whatever anti-vaxxers do at their get-togethers. It is only in the fantasy of nerds, Jewish scientists and the same physicians-killers, medicines are made from the corpses of animals, whose embryos die from pesticides!
In fact, viruses have always been called cadaveric poisons since the time of Paracelsus.
But already in our civilization this term for some reason was called vesicles / exosomes - which are packed garbage thrown out by the cell before the division procedure. And also cellular neurotransmitters for information exchange between cells!
That is, it is a lie, a substitution of concepts in order to make shit out of corpses and use taxpayers' money to drive it into their own blood, after which they will be chronically ill and endlessly consume medicines from pharmacies. Chutzpah!
No viruses exist except on colorful pictures drawn in a graphics editor!

be it proteins misaligned &/or sigle-celled organisms who defaulted to simple ways, their existence is not to be discredited

even without kikes, again, viruses are a natural phenomena
its a type of semi-life that is what comes of simple proteins within this cosmos

Op here again

Practically everything has changed worldwide since I made my initial posts. Nothing is ever gonna be the same in the upcoming years. Just like this one posted pointed out

 >>/25605/
> The next 10 years will be like nothing in history. The current state of the world and society does not provide enough contextual information to predict or fathom what the future has in store for everyone, for it will be completely alien in its nature and presentation.

This tbh

A global pandemic fugged everything up and now people who survived are trying to rebuilt civilization again. It's a lil bit like the Black death, except everyone got affected from it. And we also have a frequent set of dataminers pestering imageboards all the time. It's a lot to take in tbh. We'll see what happens during these upcoming years fam. Have a lil song in the meantime

If Americans should be allowed to be homosexuals then why can't they own guns?

If Americans should be allowed to read Bibles then why can't they smoke marijuana?

Live and let live.

Freedom is the American way.

More wars over natural resources is all but certain.
An economic collapse of Europe.
An economic collapse of Ukraine.
Balkanization of the US. Hard to say whether it leads to civil conflict or not. Maybe some. Definitely rising political division.
Certainly the loss of the US dollar as global reserve currency. Expect poverty and crime to increase over time. Also expect many local communities to go back to bartering and trade to recoup. Vaccine passports/social credit score will not be widely accepted except for some major cities and a few commie-run States.
Russia, India and China will establish some kind of alternative trade system without relying on the Western world. I expect some Eastern currencies to be digital but backed by physical commodities (govt manipulation will likely persist though).

No economic collapse anywhere yet at least

Doubt it. All the countries you mentioned are too corrupt

LOL, BULLSHIT. Many Europeans are now going back to burning trash for heat this winter as they are forced to ration energy. German industry is now fucked too with manufacturing plants shuttering all over. You obviously do not pay attention.

> All the countries you mentioned are too corrupt

The US is too. Your point....!?

Very true. There are also protests going on in the UK over energy prices. Complete media blackout. Governments in full denial mode, and coming soon here too. Only those who pay attention understand what is really happening and why.

> greater separation between people as technology continues to grow, also resulting in people existing online more frequently and said online existences being perceived as is they are real with possible "laws" alongside it

Not happening yet. The internet is continuing to break apart and balkanize if anything. There are still people who won't register to social media sites because they require a phone number for authentication. If I recall correctly I was online more in the last 10 years than I have been the last couple years into the 2020s. It seems like there are less things to do online now days, not more.

> The next 10 years will be like nothing in history. The current state of the world and society does not provide enough contextual information to predict or fathom what the future has in store for everyone

So far this is true. We'd never have imagined the European economy collapsing, a massive war between Russia and Ukraine which NATO is being pulled into, growing supply chain disruptions, rapid inflation, Saudi Arabia abandoning relations with the US and turning to the BRICS alliance, etc.

Corruption does not prevent governments from doing whatever they want to do, essentially that is the very precedent of corruption, doing whatever you want despite rules, regulations or laws that would otherwise prohibit illegal, unjust or immoral activity. Slandering a criminal for being a criminal does not stop the criminal.

Felt as though this year was quieter than the two previous ones. Can't say I'm satisfied with how things transpired in my own personal life, but it is what it is.

Artificial Intelligence has grown much more powerful in a remarkably short amount of time. ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion are very promising and will certainly see much more use in the future (Assuming SD can remain FOSS and ChatGPT publicly available...).
The motivations of the whole Covid theater are still not yet clear, but if some of the major online theories are to be believed there will be much higher volumes of health problems and death in the upcoming future.

happy new year, my fellow compatriots; i hope everyone here has a better new year
its windy & raining right now, and i'm hearing all the celebratory fireworks, trainhorns, and gunshots
woke up a few hours ago & just got done eating some pizza, still a little sleepy, but i'm happy
this year wasn't a bad one for me, luckily enough; though there were some pretty shitty experiences, they were the kind of stuff was was always gonna happen anyways
good luck to you all, and thank you

Thank you anon. I drank a bunch of booze last night, still a bit "hungover" (not that I feel bad from it) and no I did not commit myself to any "new years resolution" even though I probably should sober up more. After all it's just another year of corruption, bullshit and misery around the world. I don't think that will come to an end anytime soon. But regardless.... Cheers! My New Years this year was not as fun as Christmas with family and relatives but I still did the same - ate good food and drank a whole lot. Might as well have fun and live it up while we still can, right?

Nope, this was covered in /news/ already, most AI shit being rolled out is being heavily regulated, limited, monitored and censored to a certain extent. Such AI will produce nothing more than what the gatekeepers of that AI desire it to be used for, and what content is to be shared or prohibited.

I'm guessing the youth are no longer being taught to do simple math anymore, that includes remembering dates and timelines. Sad.

 >>/46083/
Did you fall asleep for a couple years and just wake up from a coma? The year is 2023. 2021 and 2022 already passed us all by.

It is far, far worse than you can even imagine if you pay any attention to what is really going on around the globe, including the geo-political and economic side of events unfolding. Buckle up. We are living history that will determine what future YOU are going to end up living in at this point. Signs are not pointing to a pretty picture anon.

I guess we better make the right decision here and now then. Lest out descendants curse us for all eternity once we all reach out graves

I don't know how awful the world is going to get but I am going to do my best to stay out of the whole mess. All governments are corrupted, they don't protect the interest of us citizens anyway. If anything citizens are treated as cannon fodder during wars so I'll lay low if a hot war ever breaks out.

I don't hold much hope for the world anymore. Things will probably continue to get worse, societies will become more balkanized as individuals give up and/or live in their own little bubbles. As the global economy continues to face greater risk of crisis and supply chain disturbances due to wars, governments will likely become more totalitarian and oppressive towards those who feel the pain and speak out the most. It's cruel but totally and utterly predictable.
